This program prepares the student for a career as a professional skin care specialist (esthetician) Graduates of A.R.T Beauté & Aesthetics School specializes in aesthetics SkinCare and Makeup Artistry’s 650 Hour Skin Care and Makeup Artistry Program find employment in the health, beauty and fashion industries as fully qualified:

  • Spa Technicians

Licensed professional Estheticians obtain work in a variety of settings, such as beauty salons, day spas, hotels and resorts, cruise ships, skin care, cosmetic companies, department stores and boutiques. Estheticians may also work as self-employed practitioners in a professional setting or establish a home based practice.

Program Objectives

Enrollment for this program is extremely limited. Interested candidates must be able to meet all financial and schedule requirements. If you are interested in this program, we require that all potential candidates of this program schedule a preliminary interview with owner, director, Education Director to discuss the specifics of this program. During this interview, candidates will receive detailed school catalog and a tour of the school.

Graduates of the 650 Hour Skin Care and Makeup Artistry Program are eligible to apply for the NC State Board of Cosmetology’s Esthetics Examination in order to obtain a NC state license. A.R.TC. can also help you get license in SC and Georgia.

We use a variety of products including Artcee skin care, Dermalogica, OFRA and MUD makeup. Our clinics are outfitted with equipment that can be found in spas and skincare facilities across the country.

The 600 Hour Skin Care and Makeup Artistry Program at A.R.T.C School of Esthetics: Skin Care and Makeup Artistry has a comprehensive curriculum consisting of hours of solid theory, including the study of anatomy and physiology, bacteriology, sanitation, skin disorders, ingredient and product knowledge, chemistry and nutrition. Our program also includes 323 hours of practical training, which includes the demonstration and supervised study of:

  • Facial and Body Treatments
  • European Facial Massage
  •  Skin Analysis
  • Hair Removal Techniques
  • Professional Makeup Application
  • Application of Skin Care Equipment
  • Color Analysis
  • Communication and Retails Skills

To receive licensed as an esthetician you must have the education and training required to pass your state’s written and practical licensing exams for this field. This means learning everything your state requires you to know about analyzing, treating and beautifying skin. You should also learn to recognize skin problems that may need to be referred to a dermatologist or other medical professional. To get all this training, the first thing you need to do is find out if you would like all aspects of cosmetology or would you like to work with skin & makeup exclusively. You must have hands on & book knowledge to be successful. a good esthetician should be well-groomed, smell good, put-together and comfortable working with guest. You must be attentive to cleanliness, and great sanitation safety. Your station must be clean and tidy at all times as well as sterile tools. You should be comfortable speaking with your guest about their skin current needs, skin care regimen. You may be nervous at first but we will guide you throughout the process. You have to be comfortable recommendations and good judgment for how your guest should manage their unique skin care needs.

 

As an esthetician customer service is most important, adherence to processes and legal requirements, knowing how to promote specific product lines and promoting yourself in this field. You must be a great listener and patient with your guest need. You should be able to see tiny details at close range you will be up and personal in your guest face, you must be steady with your hands and have good hand-eye coordination, and be comfortable using your hands at long stretches for services like facial massages.
